Day 7
So I took some days off and decided to explore New York City. There was still so much going on outside of Fashion Week. But today, I am back at it again. I went to the Nolcha Fashion show and was able to view 5 new lines. All of the hair styles were created by Rusk.
The first designer was Mariana Lira and her line was Mariana Valentina. She had a great collection of gold. It was a great look into the spring. It was a great show opener.
The next was Arrum Lilly by Tanya Aab. This collection opened with a burnt orange dress and used different variations of this color throughout. There were orange, green, pink, yellow, turquoise, and zebra print creations as an eclectic mixture of African and techno music played. There was everything from shorts to blazers to dresses. A nice prelude to what was to come.
The following designer was Priti Bali’s Priti by Design. I was actually sitting next to her husband who stated that after spending years at the Fashion Institute of Technology the designer came up with a vision to take 5 pieces and create 10 different looks. The colors used were red, black, and white.
After Priti was Adolfo Sanchez’ line, Adolfo Sanchez. Adolfo used ruffles and created some great styles.
The last was Stephen Goudeau’s Studio 6th Sense started with navy gown with lace and showcased different styles of ruffles in white, pinks and other navies. It was a great designer to end the show with.
After Nolcha I headed over to Lincoln Center to watch the Whitney Eve collection. It showcased a lot of spring looks, and presented a hobo chic look to it.
My last stop for the night would be the Boy meets Girl fashion show. The opening of the show was the Fugees’ very own, Wyclef Jean. There were so many amazing people in the audience including Blogger Necole Bitchie, Miss New York USA, Miss New York Teen USA, Rosario Dawson, and Olympic Gold Medalist Susan Francia to name a few. It was a collaboration of masculine looks with a feminine twist. A nice and comfortable way to end the night, dancing.
