Pageants and The Runway
Day 2: If you are a true Southern Belle you've been in a pageant. And, if you're a true socialite you've been invited to view those gowns before the rest of the world
Any Southern Socialite would make sure that they were up on all of the latest trends so my last stop this summer was NYFW. Fashion's Night Out was great, but as any southern belle a pageant gown makes me feel divine. So my seat at a Sherri Hill's Fashion Show was destiny. As I entered Trump Towers dressed in a Sherri Hill's dress I was interviewed by the many different outlets there. It made me feel like the Princess my papa always told me I was. And as everyone from the Northern Socialites to Miss USA to Olympian Ryan Lochte to the young ladies of Dance Moms took their seats, I knew I was in for a treat.
The show began with the glare of Rihanna coming through the speakers, and beautiful pastel colors began to dance down the runway on the most stunning women. While I was excited to pick out my favorite gown, it was great to see some familiar faces on the runway. A few Miss USAs and Miss Universes, and we cannot forget Kendall and Kylie Jenner.
Every model wore a high bun and different variations of gold, white, pinks, blues, spearmints, and black dresses/gowns down the runway. These dresses would be great to be worn at pageants and at a cocktail party. And, the perfect song closed the show, Diamonds are Forever by Kanye West as Kendall and Kylie Jenner had the final walk.
After such a great show, I had one more show before the night was over. Project Runway Alum Korto Momolu put on such a great show. The show opened with Katy Perry’s Fire Away playing, and showing off a t-shirt designer that was raising money for a charity. Miss Universe, Miss USA, and Miss Teen USA managed to get to the show immediately after I did. The show showcased dresses that could be warn right off of the runway, and would be a great asset to any fashionista’s wardrobe. I am excited about the possibility of wearing one soon.
