A Bow and A Curtsey

As I’ve stated previously, I have been volunteering since I was about 8 years old. I never thought anything of it. I always remembered that one of my heroes, Shirley Chisholm, stated that “service is the rent we pay here on earth.” It was so humbling to receive an award for my service in the community, especially with young girls. It was even more humbled when it was the Billie Holiday award. I was presented with the award at a cotillion. It has been years since I have attended one of those. It was an honor and privilege to accept such an award.
