There She Is..Camille Schrier

This past Thursday I was able to walk the red carpet and be press for this blog at the Miss America competition held at the Mohegan Sun Arena. There were prelims that were not aired, were the top 15 were picked. So, we were all excited, dressed and ready for the NBC broadcast.

The final night judges consisted of Lauren Ash, Karamo, and Kelly Rowland. I must admit besides seeing the new Miss America crowned, I was most excited to meet Kelly Rowland.

At the end of the night Camille Schrier was crowned the new Miss America and showed the world that scientist is a talent.

Later that evening at the press conference the judges were asked why they chose Camille. It was believed that she was the epitome of Miss America 2.0 and she was a disrupter of the norm like 2.0. They were all honored that she knows who she is and is not afraid to share her voice and story.

So who is Camille...Camille is on the road to be a pharmacist and first learned she loved science at 4 when she wanted to be a "naturologist." She has come a love way from cooking with her parents, but she will remain a fur mom to her two cats. After battling an eating disorder and OCD, Camille is ready to show the world that she is more than her looks. She is smart and strong! She is Miss America!
